Merry Christmas!

As we write this blog, Christmas Day is just 10 short days away and in 3 weeks we’ll all be back at work wondering how the holiday went so quickly! Time does seem to fly at the moment, and it really doesn’t feel like a year since we were working out which Tier we were in and having Christmas events cancelled left, right and centre. We have everything crossed that this Christmas more people can see their friends and loved ones and enjoy some festive cheer after another turbulent year. Let’s take a little look back at how it went for Elevator Equestrian…
Of course, we kicked off 2021 by going straight into a lockdown, this time with a backdrop of January gloom instead of spring optimism. Thankfully our Director Jo did what she does best and spent it working on a new tack design which was to be unveiled in the late spring. She created two breastplate designs to help keep your saddle secure and ensure your horse is comfortable when you’re riding. One version is full leather (English Sedgwick leather just the same as our bridles), and the other has elastic inserts to provide more movement. Take a closer look at Jo’s lockdown project here.
When spring rolled around, we were all on tenterhooks to see when equestrian sport would be able to resume, and we didn’t have to wait too long. When we finally saw sporting events kick off, we were looking forward to seeing our sponsored riders out and about. The evergreen Pippa Funnell has had a brilliant season with Billy Walk On, finishing on the podium at the Bicton 5* in September. In other eventing news Elevator’s Director Jo has an exciting young event horse who is campaigned by the talented rider Fred Powell. This super horse stepped up to Intermediate level for the first time in 2021 and racked up an impressive second place in the CCI-S 3* Section C at the Barbury International Horse Trials back in July. We can’t wait to see what happens in 2022!
Summer also saw the arrival of our revamped website, making it much easier to browse the Elevator product range and compare the tack and accessories in our range. We also added a new ‘build a bridle’ tool which allows people to select the components which suit their horse best and see what the result would cost. It’s proving to be very popular, and we’re delighted with the new website! We also update this blog every month with tips for fitting your bridle, how to care for your bridle and interesting articles on the history of the bridle.
More exciting things are in the pipeline for 2022, so make sure you keep an eye on our blog and social media to be the first to know about them… In the meantime, we are looking forward to a break over the Christmas holidays and hope that our followers and customers will be able to do the same. It’s been a long and tough year, so remember to be kind to yourselves. If that means seeing friends and family for food and cheer or having a total rest with a tub of Celebrations, enjoy it. We want to say a big thank you for your support and custom this year and hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
