Enjoying the return of equestrian competition
Isn’t it wonderful to see the return of equestrian competitions after such a long break? Being able to take a scroll through social media and find out how our favourite riders are getting on and seeing reports in the Horse & Hound once again. Of course, it’s not completely back to normal, with limits of spectators, socialising and shopping at events, but it’s a lot better than nothing! It is so important for people to be able to show off the results of their hard work during lockdown and see some friendly faces in the lorry park.
We’ve particularly enjoyed seeing a number of our favourite Elevator customers out and about again, with eventing legend Pippa Funnel taking the trio of Billy Cassidy, Maybach and Billy Wonder to Tweseldown at the beginning of the month. All three horses came away with double clears and Billy Cassidy won the novice section – definitely plenty of hard work during lockdown paying off there. It also gives us a nice warm and fuzzy feeling inside to see Elevator bridles in action – it’s why we do what we do! We really love hearing from all our customers when they are out and about in our products, so don’t forget to tag us in on social media or email your pictures over when you’re back at home.
Pippa has since been over to Ireland to visit the breeding arm of her and her husband William’s Billy Stud operation. The videos make us want to get our chequebook out and start snapping up some of the gorgeous three-year-olds they have for sale. There’s an auction very soon you know… It is great to see that people still have the commercial confidence to invest in young sports horses even during this uncertain time.
As we’ve mentioned before, Jo has spent some of lockdown working on new products, but she’s also got some exciting horse news for us all! She’s recently taken ownership of a new horse herself, the gorgeous grey allrounder Hudson. Hudson has certainly landed on his hooves, with a new owner who is totally dedicated to improving the comfort of horses and ponies and has a plethora of gorgeous English leather tack for him to wear. We look forward to seeing Jo out and about competing once the duo have had a few weeks to get to know each other!
